Cas d’usage

Most people arriving here are choosing between a handful of tools rather than deciding whether to buy one at all. Here is where each of the common options is genuinely the better answer, including the cases where that is not us.

Klue / Crayon

Best for: Enterprise competitive-enablement programmes with a dedicated competitive-intelligence function and a large sales org. They are built around arming sellers at scale — card distribution, win/loss workflows, CRM integration, and analyst-style curation by a team that owns the practice full time.

Trade-off: Weight and cost. They assume someone whose job is competitive intelligence. If nobody at your company owns that role, most of the platform goes unused.

Kompyte

Best for: Marketing teams that mainly want automated tracking of competitor web properties and campaigns feeding a battlecard workflow, at a lighter footprint than the enterprise suites.

Trade-off: Coverage is centred on marketing-visible surfaces, so engineering-side signals like changelog and repository activity are less of a focus.

Similarweb / Semrush

Best for: Traffic, keyword, and market-share estimation. If your question is “how much traffic does this competitor get and what do they rank for”, these answer it and we do not.

Trade-off: They measure audience and demand, not what a competitor actually shipped. Neither will tell you a pricing tier changed on Tuesday.

Google Alerts / RSS

Best for: Zero budget and one or two competitors you already read. Genuinely fine for a while — do not buy software to replace something that is working.

Trade-off: No classification, no history you can query, no coverage of pages behind bot protection, and no filtering, so the volume becomes unreadable as you add competitors.

Spyingbee

That’s us

Best for: Small product and marketing teams with nobody assigned to competitive intelligence, who want the change itself — a shipped feature, a pricing tier, a changelog entry — rather than a research programme. Eight source types per competitor, an anti-bot crawler that reaches pages simple scrapers cannot, and a weekly brief that arrives whether or not anyone logs in.

Trade-off: We are a small product and we are not a sales-enablement platform: no win/loss tracking, no CRM integration, and no analyst service curating your cards. If you have a competitive-intelligence team and hundreds of sellers to arm, the enterprise suites are built for that and we are not.

Positioning only. We have not run a feature-by-feature bake-off, and we do not quote competitors’ prices here because they are negotiated and would go stale. Check each vendor’s own site for current pricing and capabilities.

Oui. Spyingbee peut surveiller directement des pages web publiques, même quand aucun flux structuré n’existe.
